Our recommendation: Choose the Minu V3 when you want one compact stroller for errands and trips, value its 20 lb basket, and can comfortably carry 16.7 lb. Choose the lighter Joolz Aer2 when frequent carrying matters more than the extra basket capacity.
This is a sourced buying guide, not a Capital Kidz hands-on test. We checked U.S. manufacturer documentation and the Capital Kidz catalog on October 19, 2026. Specifications describe the model; fit and availability still depend on the exact product you choose.
The decision starts with how often you lift it
A travel stroller can spend as much time being carried as pushed. Think about the stairs between your front door and the street, the walk across an airport, and the lift into your trunk. Those moments make the Minu V3’s weight more useful information than the word “lightweight” on a product page.
The Minu V3 weighs 16.7 lb. The Aer2 weighs 14.3 lb—a 2.4 lb difference before either stroller holds your bags. That does not make one universally better. If you usually roll from a garage to a sidewalk, a larger basket may matter more. If you repeatedly carry a folded stroller upstairs, start by trying a lift with a comparable load.

- Folded: 20.9 × 17.3 × 9.2 in

Newborn use needs the correct seat setup
The Minu V3 is suitable from birth in its stroller seat when configured according to its manual. The North American instructions specify the most reclined position and rear crotch-buckle slot until the baby has strong head and neck control and can sit with bent knees. Use the complete harness. “From birth” is a setup instruction, not permission to place a newborn in an upright toddler position.
An infant car seat is a separate option for transfers. The Minu V3 needs the appropriate model-specific adapters. You do not need to buy a car seat simply to make the stroller seat usable from birth. Conversely, owning an UPPAbaby car seat does not mean it clicks directly onto this compact stroller.

Can it replace your full-size stroller?
For a family whose usual trip is a pavement walk, a shop, or a car-to-destination outing, the Minu V3 is worth considering as the everyday stroller. Its compact fold may solve the practical problem a larger stroller creates at home. Its 20 lb basket also gives it a clear reason to be considered beyond holiday use.
Good fit: pavement errands, a small storage spot and trips where you sometimes carry the folded stroller. Compare another format: a routine centered on jogging, long rough-ground outings or loads beyond its basket limit. Choose a stroller designed for that job; compact dimensions and suspension alone do not establish suitability.
Before choosing, measure your storage spot and check your child against both the weight and height limits. A child below 50 lb can still reach the 40 in height limit first. The best long-term choice is the one that fits your child and your routine, not the one with the largest number in its description.
Three questions before you buy
Does it fit in an airplane overhead bin?
Its compact dimensions make cabin storage plausible, but no stroller specification guarantees acceptance on every flight. Compare the folded dimensions with the operating airline’s rules for your aircraft, including regional connections. Keep a gate-check plan.
Does it fold with one hand?
UPPAbaby describes a one-hand fold and unfold. That is the manufacturer’s mechanism claim, not our ease-of-use test. Watch the official demonstration and practice with the stroller empty before relying on it during a rushed transfer.
Which accessories should I buy first?
Start with the job you actually need to solve: car-seat adapters for transfers, a rain shield for your climate, or a travel bag for transport. Check Minu V3 compatibility for each part. An accessory labeled simply “Minu” may belong to a different generation.
