It started with JD's
Nat Franco opened JD's in Washington, DC, a store built on fair value, honest service, and the kind of trust that brings families back for a lifetime. That handshake standard still runs through everything we do.
The D-Mart years
The family launched D-Mart, a chain of department stores known for quality at the right price. By 1975 we had found our true calling and refocused entirely on infants and toddlers, becoming specialists in safe, well-made gear for a family's most important years.
Capital Kidz is born
We brought our heritage online as CapitalKidz.com, a brand built from the ground up for modern parents rather than an inventory list dumped on the web. Today we are a curated destination that does more than sell: we guide families through every early milestone.
